Minutes of Meeting
Tuesday, June 14, 2016
Members Present: Jeff Jordan, Tom Jameson, and Administrative Assistant Kristy Barnouski
Others Present: Stephen Stock, Lucille Noel, Luke Stevens, Bruce Wilen and other members of the public.
Call to Order Mr. Jordan called the meeting to order at 6:30pm
Davis Rd.-
Mrs. Barnouski stated that Mrs. Pinard had spoken to an invited Mr. Blackman to the meeting tonight, Mr. Blackman however was not in attendance.
Mr. Stevens stated that the gate which has been up for about 2 months now on Davis Rd, makes him feel uncomfortable or like he is doing something wrong when he has to stop at it. He also stated that it inconveniences him and in the winter he will not be able to get around the posts. He wants to be able to access his property.
Mr. Jordan stated that he had spoken on the phone with Mr. Blackman who doesn’t feel that it’s a Town Road and threatened legal action if he had to take the gate down.
Mr. Jameson stated that he had checked the State of NH, Class VI road inventory and Davis Rd. is listed as a Chichester Class VI road. There is also a substantial file on Davis Rd and its history.
Both Selectmen present agreed that the sign which reads “FOOT AND HORSE TRAFFIC WELCOME, ALL ELSE PROHIBITED” must come down immediately.
Mr. Jameson stated that Mr. Blackman needs a legitimate reason as to why the gate needs to be up.
Mr. Jameson made a motion to send a certified letter to Ian Blackman to remove the sign on the gate and ask for his attendance at the next Board of Selectmen’s meeting the following week. Mr. Jordan seconds the motion. Motion passes.
Library-
Ms. Noel handed out plans for the Library addition which will be underway soon. She stated that she was speaking with Mr. Plunkett who had proposed some options to add more parking.
The Library will remain open during construction.
Adjournment
Being no further discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Jordan and seconded by Mr. Jameson to adjourn the meeting at 7:45pm. Motion passes
